Look closely in the lighter part of this picture, that is the road, about half way up the mountain.
It took us about an hour to drive to the top of Mt. Lemmon from our apartment, even though it is right across the street from our place. It is an average of 30 degrees colder at the top of the mountain than in Tucson.
